2nd Cebu Dragon Boat Fiesta
After collecting four titles on Saturday, the Philippine Army Dragon Warriors proved their might once more, adding a pair of golds in 250-meter small boat competition in the 2nd Cebu Dragon Boat Fiesta, which came to an end yesterday at the City of Naga Boardwalk.
The Philippine Army recorded their fastest finish yesterday at one minute and 23.02 seconds in the elite mixed category, narrowly escaping the Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime, which clocked 1:23.09.
Bohol’s Dauis Wild Dragons (1:27.97) secured the bronze.
The Army also clocked 01:32.57 to win the women’s title, beating Manila’s Triton Dragon Boat Racing Team and Dumaguete City’s Umagu Dragon Boat Team.
Last Saturday, the team dominated four 500m small boat races — the women’s, mixed standard, elite open, and open categories. They won six titles overall.
Meanwhile, the Boracay All Stars bagged three titles yesterday as they topped the club crew mixed, and club crew open, and 250m standard boat mixed categories.
Last Saturday, they won the club crew mixed and club crew open titles in the 500m small boat competition for five titles in the event.
The Philippine Accessibility Disability Services Inc. (PADS) Adaptive Dragon Boat Racing Team also won two gold medals in the 250m small boat by topping the masters mixed, and mixed international.
In the first two days of the competition, PADS had won the 250m Cebu mixed, and 500m small boat masters mixed crowns for four titles overall.
The Dumaguete Yellowfins topped the 250m small boat elite open while PNP won the 500m small boat elite mixed.
