Nuisance candidates less likely to be declared

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will less likely declare nuisance candidates for the barangay and SK elections said Provincial Election Officer Lionel Marco Castillano.

Castillano explained that it is harder to single out nuisance candidates during the election.

Unlike in the local and national elections, financial capacity is not a basis for declaring a candidate as a nuisance.

Castillano said that the Comelec cannot declare a candidate to be a nuisance unless there will be a petition.
