THE CEBU Darters United (CDU) declared themselves a hundred percent ready as they take off today for the Philippine Open Tacloban US$100K International Darts Tournament in Palo, Leyte.

“We are very excited and confident for the competition,” Ramon Alcoseba, the CDU team captain and founder, said during a press conference yesterday at Yayoy’s Grill and Restobar in Capitol Site, Cebu City. “Tonight, we will have our final practice. Afterwards, we will rest for rejuvenation before the big event,” he added.

The Cebuano bets will be facing darters from other parts of the archipelago as well as 10 foreign teams.

“This will be a good opportunity for Cebuano darters to gain points in the National Darts Federation (NDF) and Darts Council of the Philippines’ (DCP) system,” Alcoseba added.

Odong Pamatian, Roy Laude and Roniel Pedrosa were the three players rated by the NDF and DCP who were able to join the lineup.

The 43-year-old Laude ranked seventh on both NDF and DCP during the year 2000.

CDU added more manpower to the team in Silver Mike, Jojo Morados, Gilbert Bejec and Elmer Jarantilla.

The rest are Jun Mosanto, Boy Campugan, Dominic Soquiño, William Ugang Jr., Dino Bacayo, Rolly Majorenos, Reyden Colina, Arvic Recana and Cyrus Cabungcag.

“We will not take on our opponents lightly. We will be aiming for the gold,” Alcoseba added.
