A motorcycle back rider was killed while two of his companions sustained injuries in a road accident along the national road in Barangay Mantalongon, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu past 7 p.m. on Thursday.
The back rider was identified as Arnel Amamangpang, 25, who was ran over by a cargo truck driven by Junard Rodrigo Geolin, 30.
His brother, Arnold Amamangpang, 21, and a 15-year-old minor were injured.
The victims were on their way home when the incident happened.
Police investigation showed that Arnold, who drove the vehicle, tried to overtake the cargo truck.
Arnold, who failed to notice an approaching motorcycle from the other lane, lost control of the motorcycle.
