PEARL Korean Restaurant Team 2 led the winners of last weekend’s Alta Vista Corporate Cup played at the par-72 layout on the hills of Pardo, Cebu City.
Pearl 2 topped Division A while the Division B title went to Vanex Trading and the Division C crown was bagged by Carlos A. Gothong Lines.
Highlighting the tournament was an ace scored by Pedrito Buenavista of Team Nuat Thai on hole No. 15.
The AV Corporate Cup is a four-man team event where each team fields two best-ball pairs playing using the Modified Stableford Scoring System.
The pair of Kim Young Soo and Joseph Yun combined for 50 points while the other duo of Yang Soon Wook and Yoon Sea Gwan made 45 points for a total of 95.
Runner-up honors in Division A went to Petro V that had brothers Marco and Marvin Mendoza combining for 43 points and the veteran duo of Vic Gocela and Nolan Rada making 51 for a total of 94 points.
Vanex Trading had a total of 99 points to rule Division B. Golf director and club treasurer Ramon Sebastian and partner Nimrod NL Quiñones fired 47 points while the duo of Vicente ‘Inting’ Go and Manuel ‘Jun’ Zosa fired 52 points.
Runner-up honors in the second group went to PIC Builders with 98 points. Clive Paca and Hugo Saurat made 46 points while the duo of Allan Chiongbian and Harvey Sytiongsa shot 52 points.
Carlos A. Gothong Lines scored a tournament-best 101 points to rule Division C. The tandem of Jershwin Po and Charles Ong scored 49 points while the duo of Mark Guanzon and Calvin Gothong shot 52 points.
Runner-up honors went to Yanmar Construction and Equipment with 99 points. Francis Granados and Harold Tan scored 54 points while Larry Ong and Mark Tan had 45 points.
Buenavista nail his first hole-in-one in 26 years playing golf from a distance of 172 yards. He won a Skygo motorcycle, two night accommodation in Dakak, and some cash.
Special prizes also went to Rico Tautho for longest putt on the 4th, Harold Tan for most accurate drive on the 11th, and Mark Guanzon for nearest to the pin on the 13th.
The tournament was organized by the club’s Monthly Medal Committee led by Engr. Willy T. Go.
