THE CEBU Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) nosed out the Mactan Island Chess and Scrabble Association (Micsa) in the “Kadaugan Sa Mactan 2018 Micsa Vs. Cepca” last Sunday at the Super Metro Gaisano in Lapu-Lapu City.
Cepca emerged with 21 total points after two rounds of 21-board chess match played while Micsa scored 20 points.
The tournament was organized in line with the celebration of the “Kadaugan Sa Mactan,” which is celebrated in the month of April to commemorate the defeat of Magellan by Lapu-Lapu at the beach of Barangay Mactan.
The tournament was hosted by Micsa in cooperation with Cepca and the Lapu-Lapu City government.
