Shaila Mae Rebortera

REYNA NG ALIWAN

SINULOG Festival did not retain its crown this year for the Reyna ng Aliwan pageant.

Sinulog Festival Queen 2018 Shaila Mae Rebortera finished second runner-up, tied with Lady Justerinnie Santos (Singkaban Festival of Bulacan) and Ashanti Shaine Ervas (Niyogyugan Festival of Quezon Province). Sinulog Festival Queen 2017 Marla Alforque won the Reyna ng Aliwan title last year.

The coronation night was held at Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Pasay City on April 28, Saturday.

In an interview with Cebu Daily News, Rebortera thanked Cebuanos for the support before and during the pageant.

“I would not have reached this far without you. Thank you so much! Viva Pit Señor,” she said.

Rebortera also received Ms. Unique Smile of the Night.

To recall, Rebortera was crowned

Sinulog Festival Queen 2018. She was the lead dancer for Talisay City, giving her the ticket to represent Sinulog Festival at the Reyna ng Aliwan 2018.

“I feel honored to be able to represent Cebu in a national pageant. I wished for the crown but I guess Señor Sto. Niño has other plans for me. I hope still I made Cebu proud,” she told CDN.

Cebu City has produced several winners in Reyna ng Aliwan pageant including Marla Alforque (2017), Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Thomalla (2016), Steffi Aberasturi (2014), Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell (2013), Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2015 Rogelie Catacutan (2011), and Miss Tourism International 2012 Rizzini Alexis Gomez (2010).

After Reyna ng Aliwan, Rebortera wants to focus on her studies.

She is a graduating student of Dentistry at the Cebu Doctors University.

Rebortera is not a newbie in the pageantry. She has already won several titles like Miss CESAFI 2014 and was second runner-up at Miss Cebu 2016 pageant.
