A more challenging route awaits participants when Motor-Ace Philippines-Kawasaki brings the Giro D’ Luca to Bohol on May 4 to 6.
More than 400 cyclists are expected to join the three-day, non-competitive cycling event that will feature a scenic ride around Bohol.
“In previous years, Giro D’ Luca has been known by most cyclists as a training ground for upcoming cycling events,” Motor-Ace Racing Team manager and event organizer Ivee Alfredo Cabahug said during a press conference at Cafe Georg in Banilad, Cebu City yesterday. “Now, athletes already [treat] this event like any other competitive cycling event.”
Organizers promised a tougher route for the participants in the sixth edition of the event, offering a higher climbing ride with temperature being one of the greatest challenges.
On the first day, riders will kick off at the Bellevue Resort and will be finishing at the Danao Police Station.
On the second day, the Bellevue will once again be the starting point up to Jagna and then to Duero. Organizers declined to share the third day’s route, saying it is going to be a surprise route for riders.
John Philip Dueñas, Paul Jake, Joseph Miller and Matteo Guidicelli will be among the noted participants.
Just like last year, most participants will come from the Mindanao region but they will be joined by visitors from Malaysia this year.
