Cebu’s Pogoy to represent country anew

NOT LONG after playing for the Gilas Pilipinas, the pride of Talisay City and reigning PBA Rookie of the Year, Roger Pogoy is set to don the national colors once again as he plays for the national team in the FIBA 3×3 World Cup this June at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

A product of the University of Cebu before he made his way to Far Eastern University and eventually, to the TnT KaTropa in the PBA, Pogoy is relishing this latest opportunity to play for flag and country.

“I am very happy to have been given this opportunity once again,” said the 6-foot-2 wingman in a talk with Cebu Daily News.

He will be teaming up with the PBA’s top pick, Christian Standhardinger of San Miguel, Stanley Pringle of Global Port and his TnT teammate, Troy Rosario.
