Cebu’s bets to Mr. and Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines

KYLE Dwight Sabinay and Kylah Kristianne Yve Sanchez

KYLE Dwight Sabinay used his charm and talent in singing back in 2016 when he joined ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Band Superstar and made it to Top 20.

Today, this 19-year-old charmer is set to represent Talisay City, Cebu as one of the 20 candidates for the upcoming Mr. Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018.

“I’m advocating for sustainable marine sanctuaries,” Sabinay told reporters in a press conference last Friday.

According to pageant’s official page, Mr. and Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018 has ecotourism advocacies recognized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the International Eco-Tourism Society (IETS).

Sabinay believes that the pageant is the perfect venue for him to share his advocacy and concerns.

He also urged the local government units (LGUs) to strengthen their existing policies to protect the environment.

A Grade 11 student from the University of Cebu (UC) Main Campus, Sabinay already has several titles under his belt.

These include Hari ng Duljo 2015, Hari ng C. Padilla 2015, Hiyas ng Carcar 2015, Hari ng Lalin Festival Asturias 2016, and he finished first runner-up in Mr. City Mall 2016.

Aside from Sabinay, another male candidate from Cebu is Vann Ramos who was one of the finalists in the Hari sa Sugbo 2018 pageant.

Cebu also has two candidates for the Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018.

Kylah Kristianne Yve Sanchez representing the town of Liloan in northern Cebu is one of the 20 candidates in the pageant.

Sanchez wants to organize a group in the town called “Hakbang sa Kalikasan para sa Kinabukasan.”

“Every weekend or weekdays make sure to give time and walk in Liloan. We will get garbage on the road and place them on proper bins and
educate people on garbage disposal,” she told the reporters.

For her to realize her project and have a bigger voice for her cause, Sanchez decided to join Mr. and Miss Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018.

“We want to tell and inform these people on importance of environmental protection,” she added.

Sanchez is grade 12 student in UC Main Campus.

This 18-year-old beauty queen already won several titles, including Miss Grand Chinatown 2018, Mandaue City’s Panagtagbo Festival Queen 2018, Miss UC Basic Education 2017, Miss Surfing Lanuza-Surigao 2017, Miss Yati Liloan 2017, Miss Tabogon Ecotourism 2017, and Miss Kalunasan 2017.

The other candidate from Cebu who is joining the pageant is Juvel Ducay from Bantayan, northern Cebu.

Mr. and Ms. Hannah’s World Tourism Philippines 2018 coronation night is slated on May 12 at Resorts World Manila in Pasay, Metro Manila.

The pageant is presented by Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center.
