2 PBA teams in Charter Day Cup

Two Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) teams have signified their participation in the upcoming 2014 Charter Day Cup basketball tournament slated later this month in two separate venues.

The Cebu Coliseum will host two games on Feb. 21 and 22 before action shifts to the Mandaue City Cultural Complex on Feb. 23.

Competing teams include the Alaska Aces, GlobalPort Batang Pier and the Natumolan Tigers, a multi-titled commercial team based in Cagayan de Oro City.
Organizers are still confirming the fourth participating squad.

The two PBA teams will use the three-day tournament as part of their preparation for the Commissioner’s Cup set to start on March 7.

The Aces are the tournament’s defending champions and will be bringing back Best Import awardee Rob Dozier.

GlobalPort will also parade new head coach Pido Jarencio, who was recently hired to replace interim coach Ritchie Ticzon.

The Tigers, coached by Van Halen Parmis, has just completed a magnificent grandslam finish in the Paulino Emano Cup held in Misamis Oriental. The team is co-owned by Tagoloan Mayor Paulino Emano and Natumolan barangay captain Enan Sabio.

Ticket prices are pegged at P50 (general admission), P150 (upper box), P300 (lower box), P400 (stage) and P500 (courtside). For ticket reservation, call or text 0923-9300850 or 0917-5273888.
