Netizens have mixed reactions over the fact that Cebu has the highest number of recorded HIV and AIDS cases in Central Visayas, with a total of 4,340 cases.
This came after Cebu Daily News posted a feature story regarding the current state of HIV in Cebu.

For Lee Chiq, “The continuous society’s discrimination and the stigma against people with HIV are mostly the reasons why people do not seek help… because they are ashamed of what others might say against them. But if you know your status early, get diagnosed early, you can get help early. Don’t put yourself in a situation that your doctors can no longer help you.”
