IT’S time for Cebuano talents to shine.
A Cebu-based talent show called as “Cebu Talent Network” has been holding auditions in Cebu to discover new artists.
MuStarDream Director and Producer Marlon Hofer said the talent show will empower Cebuano talents with their tagline, “Bisaya na pud, Bisaya na gyud!”
“Daghan tang talento sa Cebu and this is a venue to showcase their talents,” Hofer said in a press conference last Friday at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
The auditions are held in three different seasons.
First audition was on February 25 at Parkmall in Cebu City.
The second season was scheduled last May 4 at Robinsons Galleria Cebu while the third season will be on May 11 at SM City Cebu.
Each audition will have 15 talents who will compete for the grand finals slated on June 22 at Ayala Center Cebu.
The talent show is open to all ages and any talent performances are also welcome.
MuStarDream Productions chief executive officer Ren Ranche said there are a lot of potentials in Cebu City.
“Mostly man gud Manila tanan (auditions and talent shows.) Wala kaayo napakita ang locals nato diri when Cebuanos are talented people,” he said.
Winners will undergo workshops and trainings with a film contract, music record, and career exposure.
“We have a Cebuano film advocacy called ‘Sinegugma’ and we have been producing Cebuano short films, Cebuano documentaries,” Hofer said.
For the recording contract, winners will be part of the Cebuano music recording advocacy “Manganta Ta Bai” (MTB).
“We are grooming them to be recording artists who will sing in Cebuano songs written by Cebuano composers,” Hofer said.
The talent show will also be aired on Cebu Catholic Television Network (CCTN) and Sky Cable Channel 36 starting May 13.
The show will be hosted by Hofer together with beauty queen and singer Duchess Uybengkee and model and actor Audrie Jedd.
