DORMAKABA tallied another lopsided win as they thrashed Davies Paints, 90-53, in the A + E Basketball Corporate Cup 2018 last Saturday at the University of San Carlos gym.
The win, Dormakaba’s fifth in a row, allowed the many-time runners-up to clinch a berth in the playoffs.
The guard play of Dormakaba proved to be too much to handle for the undermanned Davies squad as Ed Macasling had 21 points, four assists and four steals while Kyle Esbra added 14 points, three boards, two assists and two steals. Eric Pummer also scored in double figures with 10.
In other games, Fenestram bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 98-62 bashing of Rain or Shine, while Island Paints upset the defending champions Sea Olympus, 78-64.
Eastgrand also nabbed its first win of the season as it nipped Phoenix, 62-61, with Kurt Vanguardia making the game-winning layup with just seconds to go.
