TUBURAN and Talisay City booked quarterfinal berths after topping their respective brackets last Monday evening in the ongoing Cebu Governor’s Cup 2018 Inter-Cities/Municipalities Basketball Tournament.
Tuburan bucked a lackluster start to defeat Balamban, 81-79, and grab the North Division bracket 4 title while Talisay City topped the South Division bracket 1 by beating San Fernando, 79-59, at the Carcar City gymnasium.
Tuburan finished with an immaculate 5-0 (win-loss) record while Talisay ended with a 4-0 slate. With the victories, both teams bagged the P30,000 cash prize that came along with the title.
Other results were; Poro (77) vs. San Francisco (75), Bogo (78) vs. Asturias (42), Tabuelan (87) vs. Tabogon (80), and Argao (74) vs. Alcoy (48).
