Nilo Jasmin of Southwestern University at smashes one through the defense of a University of San Jose-Recoletos player in a Cebu City Mayor’s Cup Open Volleyball tournament game at University of San Carlos gym on Tuesday
Cebu Province and Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma iConnect face off for the men’s division crown in the Cebu City Mayor’s Cup Open Volleyball Tournament after beating their respective semifinal foes on Tuesday at the University of San Carlos (USC) gym.
Cebu Province defeated the USC Warriors, 24-26, 25-18, 25-9, 25-20, while SWU-Phinma iConnect took down the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, 25-15, 23-25, 25-13, 32-30.
In the women’s side, the Cebu Spikers Volleyball Club (CSVC) and USC Warriors advanced to the championship round following wins over Mandaue City and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), respectively.
CSVC crushed Mandaue City, 25-23, 25-14, 25-18, while USC toppled USPF, 25-18, 18-25, 25-19, 25-23.
The championship games will be played at the same venue on Wednesday afternoon right after the battle-for-third games in the morning.
