Mandaue City gov’t to file case vs 4 persons for selling timberland

Lawyer Allan James Sayson, Mandaue Assistant City Legal officer, warned the public not to purchase parcels of lot at the timberland area near the 6.5-hectare relocation site in Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City.

This declaration came after the persons who are selling the parcels uses fictitious land titles.

Sayson said that they are now conducting a legal action against the persons for violation of the fisheries and forestry code.

“Daghan na ra ba ang nakapalit diha og yuta, duna’y mga teacher, police, government employee ug uban pa,” said Sayson. (Many had already acquired the lots there including teachers, police, government employee and others).

He added that they already endorsed the documents to the city’s consultant on environment Atty. Benjamin Cabrido.

Based on the report, about thirty houses were already built in the area and some are still paying P3,000 monthly amortization for a parcel of lot.
