Mandaue City is Governor’s Cup Volleyball champions

Mandaue City was crowned Governor’s Cup 18-Under Inter-Cities and Municipalities Volleyball Tournament 2018 champions after scoring a 25-17, 25-20, 25-18 victory over the City of Carcar in Game 2 of the best-of-three championship series on Wednesday evening at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

Mandaue swept Carcar, 2-0, and finished without a set lost in the Finals en route to winning the crown and the P300,000 purse.

For her tournament-long brilliance, Mandaue City’s Shiela Mae Kiseo was named tournament Most Valuable Player.

Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III personally handed the awards to the winners.

Carcar won P200,000 for finishing second place.

Meanwhile, Catmon defeated Argao, 28-26, 25-16, 25-12, in the first game to bag third place honors.

Catmon, thus, took home the P100,000 cash prize at stake.
