NAC World C’ships missing bets from strong countries

BODYBUILDERS from strong countries won’t be able to make it to the National Athletic Committee (NAC) World 2018 Championships, which starts today at the IEC Convention Center in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

According to Dennis Delgado, the overall event coordinator, everything is set for this bodybuilding competition.

But it will be missing some contestants due to flight problems.

“Strong countries like Ukraine, Lithuania, Israel and Italy cannot make it,” Delgado said. “Some of them got their flights delayed and some even cancelled because they cannot make it in time for the registration.”

There were also 29 out of the 56 bodybuilders from India who had passport issues. Half of the Korean contestants got their flights delayed but were fortunate enough to make it in time for the registration.

The competition, thus, will still feature bodybuilders from more than 20 countries.

Delgado said there are 70 Filipinos who have registered but he expects that number to rise.

“We are expecting 100 participants for the Philippines.”

This is the first time the NAC will hold a big event in Asia. The event starts at 9 a.m.
