Netizens were mixed in their reactions over reports that the police escorts of Daanbantayan Mayor Vicente Loot may be pulled out upon clearance from the head of Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7).
A netizen named Dan Louis wrote, “He needs no police protection Why does he have police protection in the first place? The President said he’s a drug baron and I believe the president. In other words what Loot is saying the police has to protect him from himself. When will people like him stop insulting the intelligence of the Filipino people?”
Prison Planet commented, “So…people try to kill this guy and the police are dead set on making sure this guy can’t protect himself from future attacks. Seems like the police are trying hard to protect his future attackers. What a lovely criminal justice system.
