The regional director of the Environment Management Bureau (EMB)-7 said he is willing to answer questions from the Provincial Board (PB) on the construction of commercial ports in Barangay Sangat, San Fernando town in southern Cebu.
“It’s okay for me if they’ll invite me,” EMB-7 Regional Director William Cuñado said.
This came after the PB invited San Fernando Mayor Lakambini “Neneth” Reluya to shed light on her cease and desist order (CDO) against First Sangat SF International Port Corp.
First Sangat International Port Corp. president Ruben Feliciano filed charges against the mayor in relation to the order.
Reluya claimed that Feliciano allegedly failed to secure clearances from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), and building permit, among others.
But Feliciano denied the mayor’s allegation and insisted that they had secured the necessary clearances for the construction. Feliciano will attend next week’s PB hearing.
