THE TOP-SEEDED Dormakaba finally flaunted its fine form as it ousted Rain or Shine in emphatic fashion, winning by 46 points, 88-42, in a do-or-die quarterfinal game in the Architects + Engineers Corporate Cup 2018 last Saturday at the University of San Carlos gym.
Upset by the eighth seed last weekend to forge the knockout game, Dormakaba did not take any chances and blew away Rain or Shine with a 42-15 surge in the middle periods that proved enough to net them the win and a ticket to the semifinals, where it will battle it out against rivals and defending champions Sea Olympus.
Niel Benedicto paced the winners with 18 points and four boards while Ed Macasling added 14 points and six rebounds. Klever Tomongha chipped in 12 while Eric Pummer tallied 10 points and nine assists.
Montecristo Salvador carried the scoring cudgels for Rain or Shine with 17 points.
The other semis pairing will pit Island Paints against Fenestram. The semifinal games will be winner-take-all affairs.
