DRIVEN by its commitment to preserve the beauty of the coast facing the development, Filinvest Lifemallers Cebu conducted a coastal clean-up in partnership with Basura Run Lapu-Lapu Chapter, a group of runners who hold the same passion of protecting the environment.

After the success of the first-ever Cebu City Dragon Boat Festival on June 16 and 17, IL Corso intends to strengthen its initiative in protecting the marine life through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program – “I am a COASTodian.”

“This is just the start. Being true to the project’s design that was engineered towards Green Architecture, the “I am a COASTodian” project is Filinvest Lifemalls’ way of creating a sustainable plan that can enhance the current Marine Debris Waste Management Program of our City Government, all while helping the community especially our fisher folks,” expressed George Calles, Marketing Manager of IL Corso.

In time with IL Corso’s grand launching, the “I am a COASTodian” project will be implemented by having a ‘floating trash or debris boom’ that can keep the marine litter in a contained section. Providing another source of income exchange of manpower provisions and a boat, the project will tap the services of the nearest community especially the fishermen.
