CLASSROOM SHORTAGE WOES

The news about the prevailing issue on the insufficient number of classrooms in public schools in the entire region drew strong reactions from Cebuano netizens.

This came after the Department of Education in Central Visayas (DepEd-7) admitted that while they have the funds to build new classrooms, there are no available lots or spaces where they can build the classrooms.

Lemz A. Adlawan wrote, “Education unta ang angay unahon. Bisan hutdon pa nag ihaw ang mga criminal run, mas daghan ghapon ang mupuli kung wala ghapoy tarung edukasyon.” (Let’s prioritize education. Even if we slaughter all the criminals, more will take their place if we have no proper education system.)

“What about using confiscated drug money (to build classrooms)!” Mel Watson suggested, should funding becomes an issue.

Edgar Sanchez Sr. commented, “The money for the drug test of the grade school students should instead be used to build classrooms.”
