Defending champion Batch ’95/Gaisano Capital Group starts its title-retention bid as the 13th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup of the 2014 Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) gets underway today at the Cebu Coliseum.
Batch ’88 will be going up against Batch ’95 in the season’s first game followed by the encounter between Batch ’80s/90s and Batch ’98.
Capping the triple-header is the showdown between Batch ’04 and Batch ’05. The selection of best muse will highlight the opening ceremonies.
The tournament will have 14 competing teams which will battle for positioning the single round robin in the elimination phase.
The top eight squads will barge into the quarterfinals where the top four seeds enjoying a twice-to-beat incentives over their lower-ranked foes.
Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinals which will be a single round battle. The top two teams after the semifinals will play for the crown in a best-of-three series.
