Police arrested a Korean man who is accused of raping his househelp in barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City.
Young Yul Lee was arrested Friday afternoon in the restaurant he owns in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City.
The victim said she was abused three time last year until she got pregnant.
The 21-year-old victim, who had given birth said it took her long to report the alleged abuse to the police after the Korean allegedly threatened to harm her.
Three counts of rape were filed against the Korean before the Mandaue City Regional Trial Court.
He was arrested after Judge Mercedita Dadole-Ignacio of Branch 28 issued an arrest warrant against him.
A separate warrant of arrest for acts of lasciviousness was issued against the Korean by Municipal Trial Court in Cities Judge Carlos Fernando of Branch 2 in Mandaue City.
The warrants were issued last January but police said they had a hard time locating the Korean who allegedly evaded arrest by constantly moving from one place to another.
Police said the Korean also used the aliases Dewongs Lee and Patrick Lee.
When he was arrested by operatives of the Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), Young denied he was Dewongs Lee, the name that appeared in the arrest warrants.
The Korean identified himself as Patrick Lee.
Police arrested the Korean as the complainant, who went with the arresting team, identified him.
Police later found out his real name when he was asked to present his passport.
The Korean is temporarily detained at the Subangdaku Police Station pending his commitment to the Mandaue City Jail.
