Panthers earn second victory; Idols lead in IBP basketball league

HOPE Villaflor logged his first career double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds in leading the Panthers to a, 67-64 win over winless YLAC in the IBP Basketball League at the Capitol Parish Gym.

Matthew Velez added 22 points as the Panthers climbed to 2-2 (win-loss).

Anold Gonzalodo and Marvin Pañares each had 15 points for YLAC.

In the second game, the Idols (4-0) nipped defending champion Gilas Defenders, 80-72 behind the 18 markers of sweet-shooting Lito Ortiz.

Janjo Sevilla led Gilas with 14 points.

Meanwhile, the Spartans crushed the Pañeros, 79-44 while the Bad Boys beat the Rebels, 68-59.
