Overseas jobs fair at the Capitol set for Sunday

THE Cebu Provincial Government, together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), will hold its second overseas jobs fair on Sunday, July 8.

Thousands of job vacancies in countries like Japan, China, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and Kuwait will be offered to skilled workers. Available job positions include electrician, welder, painter, housekeeping staff, waiter and receptionist, among others.

Public Employment Service Office (Peso) officer Julius Chua said government agencies like the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and Social Security System (SSS) will also participate to process documents needed for overseas employment.

The Cebu Provincial Prosecutors’ Office will also provide free legal services.

Chua said the job fair will start at 8 a.m. at the Capitol Social Hall.

Applicants are advised to register at the Peso, on or before July 8.

The pre-registration screening will be done on Friday, July 6.
