Vehicles caught counterflowing along the access roads near the Mambaling underpass project will be impounded for 60 months.

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña made this announcement in a press conference today (July 9).

Motorists continue to experience heavy traffic in E. Sabellano, Tagunol, Cabreros, and C. Padilla Streets since Saturday (July 7).

Osmeña attributed the heavy traffic due to the counterflowing of vehicles.

“But banning private vehicles in N. Bacalso Ave. will be the last resort,” said Osmeña.

In a separate interview, Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) chief Francisco Ouano said the mayor’s orders will immediately take effect today.
