The University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers overhauled an 11-point deficit and bested the Organique-University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers, 80-65, to capture the Cesafi Partner’s Cup juniors championship trophy on Tuesday night at the Cebu Coliseum.
The win gave UV a clean 2-0 sweep of USPF in the best-of-three showdown.
Leandro Actub and Albert Sacayan had 17 points each to lead UV, which trailed by as many as 11 but dominated the second half to snatch the win.
The runner-up finish was commendable for a USPF squad that was making its first appearance in the finals. Neon Chavez paced the Baby Panthers with 14 markers.
