Talisay routs San Francisco, nears Governor’s Cup crown

The Talisay City Aquastars inched closer to the title after beating San Francisco, 89-68, in Game 1 of the Governor’s Cup Inter-Cities and Municipalities Basketball Tournament best-of-three Finals on Monday night at the Talisay City Sports Complex.

Jay Deiparine scored 25 points, Elmer Echavez added 23 while Keaton Clyde Taburnal chipped in 22 as the South Division champions led from the start and never looked back to complete the rout.

Game 2 of the Finals will be this Wednesday at the San Francisco Municipal Gym in Camotes Island.

Kenny Rogers Rocacurva led the North Division champion San Francisco with 17 points.
