Saying that the Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas (LTO-7) cannot do its job in enforcing traffic, Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña decided to redeploy all 24 traffic enforcers on Natalio Bacalso Avenue and adjoining streets on Tuesday morning (July 17).
In an interview, Osmeña said that LTO-7 is just good in words but cannot do anything good to address traffic.
Sought for comment, LTO-7 Director Victor Caindec said he is grateful that the mayor realized his mistake.
Caindec, however, revealed that he has been receiving death threats following his spat with Osmeña.
He said at least nine “death threats” were sent to his Messenger since last week. His family members, he said, are also bullied on social media.
While he respects the call of Archbishop Jose Palma for him and Osmeña to stop bickering, Caindec said he will continue to criticize the mayor and inform the public about the mayor’s inability to govern.
