THE UNIVERSITY of Cebu (UC) weightlifters showed their prowess in Cebu Weightlifting Association’s (CWA) inaugural National Students Weightlifting Championships and 1st CWA Affiliate Women’s Weightlifting Invitational last Sunday at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
UC topped both the women’s college and men’s college events.
Winners in the women’s side for UC were RJ Polan (48Kg) and Elreen Ann Ando (69Kg). Men’s winners were John Dexter Tabique (85Kg) and Ramon Padilla (105Kg).
Their teammate, Arvin Yba, managed to ward the 62Kg’s silver medal.
In the women’s open invitational, UC also got a gold via Elreen Ann Ando (69Kg).
The University of San Carlos (USC) also had winners in Dave Dinolang (69Kg) and Erik Noval Uy (94Kg).
The National Students Championships is a qualifying tournament for the World University Championships which will be held in Poland.
