VOLLEYBALL teams of girls 18 and Under in Cebu will get a chance to once again play in the national stage with the Rebisco 18 and Under Girls Volleyball League (RVL) 2018 to hold two of its pre-qualifying legs here next month.
“The Rebisco Volleyball League would like to extend its profoundest invitation to all school-based girls volleyball teams to join the forthcoming pre-qualifiers of the league,” RVL national tournament director Johanz Danyz Buenvenida said. “Do not miss this rare opportunity to compete in the Philippines’ most prestigious volleyball league for girls 18 and under,” he added.
Aiming to promote the development of Philippine volleyball in the grassroots level, the RVL has widened its scope to 36 pre-qualifying legs all over Philippines including one leg each in Cebu City, Cebu Province and Bohol.
The RVL is a nationwide volleyball competition for 18 under girls teams that are school-based which started last year. This year, however, is the first time that legs will be held in Cebu.
The Cebu Province pre-qualifying rounds will begin from August 3 to 5 at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) in Canduman, Mandaue City. Cebu City, on the other hand, will hold its pre-qualifying rounds from August 6 to 9 at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) in Salinas Drive, Cebu City.
Top four teams from both the Cebu City and the Cebu Province legs and the top two for the Bohol leg will advance to the regional finals on August 10 to 12. The venue is yet to be decided.
Aside from gold medals, the regional champion will get a P25,000 worth of Mikasa volleyball equipment consisting of six MVA 310 volleyballs and one international standard net.
Moreover, the regional champion will get a free accommodation to the national finals which will be held at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City, Metro Manila.
