While Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña will be providing assistance to the two lone officials running Barangay Ermita, Cebu City, he announced the suspension of allowances of the village tanods.
“I will support them. Because I really pity them. They have to function properly. The only thing I question right now is the integrity of the tanods,” he explained.
The Office of the Ombudsan ordered the suspension of seven village officials, including Ermita Barangay Captain Mark Rizaldy Miral, on On Friday (July 20).
It stemmed from a complaint filed by former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7 (PDEA – 7) Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz.
The complaint alleged that the village officials refused to cooperate in a drug operation in 2017.
