Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III was unable to attend President Rodrigo Duterte’s third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.
Davide, who had earlier confirmed his attendance, postponed his plans due to his tight schedule. “I prefer not to and TV is much better,” he said.
But he anticipated that the president will include in his speech his plans to have a federal form of government. Davide also said President Duterte deserves some credit to his campaign against illegal drugs.
“There are many killings but I think a lot got scared,” Davide said.
He also asked the president to review his implementation of Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law which caused prices of basic commodities to soar and affect mostly marginalized sectors.
