Barug Team Rama-PDP Laban Councilors Joel Garganera and Raymond Alvin Garcia cautioned Mayor Tomas Osmeña in offering free use of a 60-hectare lot for the Call Center City project in South Road Properties (SRP).

While they welcomed the project, the two opposition councilors urged for the city government to further study their proposal in allowing investors to use the land for free.

Garcia urged for the city government to further study their proposal on allowing investors to use the land for free.

“It can really help the Cebuano. We are supportive of this initiative of the mayor, which is to have a Call Center City. But as a lawyer, I’d like to see the terms and conditions, and let’s study that (free lease) first before jumping into any promises,” said Garcia.

Garganera, on the other hand, expressed concern that the implementation of the project may result in heavier traffic flow in SRP. He also urged the mayor to also give equal importance on addressing current problems of the city such as traffic congestion and flooding.
