Watch out for two all-new models from German automakers

Mercedes-Benz A Class

THE GERMANS are in the spotlight again.

Two all-new models have been announced with a green light from Germany.

One is from Mercedes-Benz, the A-Class subcompact sedan, and the other one from Audi, the Q3 subcompact SUV.

Mercedes-Benz A Class

The A-Class has always been available in a hatchback form since its first generation model.

For the year model 2019, the A-Class gets a sedan version with a bigger boot space and better access to the rear passenger area with bigger rear dimensions.

Overall dimensions have grown slightly from the hatchback form to sedan version to create a balanced look to accommodate a rear section.

Although nothing is final at this stage regarding its engines, powertrain may include three-cylinder turbo and four-cylinder turbo engines mated to either a 9-speed or 10- speed automatic transmission.

Audi Q3

This is the second generation Q3 subcompact SUV. Whilst the outgoing model looks heavy on the rear section and stout looking, the all new model looks well poised and well balance, almost looking like a smaller Q8.

Quite frankly, its got a pretty good design with a new striking eight-point, wide gapping Audi grill and a new rear end treatment.

Audi’s new play on LED technology also takes center stage in the all-new Q3 with an all- new Intelligent LED matrix front headlights, daytime running lights, and LED motion signal lights.
