Regional Offices of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central and Western Visayas will be swapping their personnel as part of the agency’s continuing cleansing process.
In a Philippine News Agency (PNA) report, Director General Aaron Aquino said that the need to transfer personnel is regularly done “to avoid familiarity and affinity in their areas of responsibility.”
“It is a straight swap between the entire workforce of PDEA Regional Offices in Western Visayas and Central Visayas Offices, including its Regional Directors, with the exception of technical personnel such as chemists and drug regulatory officers,” Aquino said in a statement.
The swap would affect 89 personnel in Western Visayas and 91 operatives in Central Visayas.
In the same report, Aquino said that the move to transfer their personnel’s assignments was due to the greater security risks for the operatives in their Central Visayas.
The swap was implemented following the death of Agent 3 Baby “Earl” Rallos, who was gunned down by unidentified assailants on July 27.
