Security, cleanliness top new CSBT chief’s to do list

BEEFING up security measures and cleanliness of the terminal are the two main priorities of the new operations manager of the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT)

This was the promises made by Jonathan “Joy” Tumulak, Capitol’s focal person on traffic management, who will be sitting as the new CSBT manager.

“Atong hugan sa pagpatuman sa terminal (security) nga aron ang mga tawo mosulod makafeel sila nga safe sila (We will tighten our security in the terminal so that travellers will feel more safe when they enter the terminal),” said Tumulak, who will replacing the post filled by Joey Herrera starting on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Herrera will focus on the administration of the barbecue food strip, Larsian.

Tumulak was previously assigned as the terminal’s security management head in 2016, before he became the traffic management’s focal person.

Tumulak said he would improve the security measures done by the previous administration, specifically on passengers entering the terminal.

Bus units and taxis ferrying passengers and unaccredited conductors inside CSBT would also be closely monitored, Tumulak said.

He added that he would ask the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) to return police security personnel in the CSBT to ensure the safety of passengers.

Tumulak said the police security personnel were pulled out from the CSBT last June.

“Mohangyo ta sa atong provincial office nga mabalik ang ato ang PNP (Philippine National Police) nga gi assigned diha sa terminal,” Tumulak said.

Aside from that, Tumulak also emphasized the importance of cleanliness inside CSBT, which is part of his agenda once he assumed the position.

“Importante ang kalimpyo sulod sa terminal kay siya maoy unang makita dayon sa publiko,” he said.
