Davide says Duterte statement on cops a ‘warning’
Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III said President Rodrigo Duterte’s statement that Cebu police are filled with “drug addicts” is a stern warning to police officials and their personnel not to be involved in the illegal drug trade.
“It is fair para nako. You know naman President Duterte, having been mayor of Davao City, he knows kon unsa gyod ning klase kaning mga police nga badlongon kaayo (he knows the kind of rogue policemen),” Davide told reporters on Wednesday.
As for President Duterte’s allegation that high ranking officials of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) were alleged drug distributors, Davide brushed aside speculations.
“I have no proof. Maybe he (Duterte) has sources. I couldn’t make some conclusion,” he said.
