Don Bosco, Ateneo de Cebu bag titles in SRFC

FOOTBALL powerhouses Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) bagged three titles each so far in the ongoing 13th San Roque Football Cup held at the San Roque football pitch in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

DBTC ruled the Under 7 Mixed, Under 11 Mixed and Under 13 Boys.

SHS-AdC, on the other hand, triumphed in the Girls categories — Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19.

In the U7 Mixed, DBTC 1 edged sister team DBTC 2, 1-0, while in the U11, DBTC 1 thrashed its sister team DBTC 3, 3-1.

DBTC 1 routed Sisters of Mary School (SMS) Boystown A, 5-1, to clinch the U13 title. The runner-up honors was the highest finish for the SMS ever since it started training in football last year.

SHS-AdC had its best finish to take home the U15, U17 and U19 crowns. These categories were played in a league type format.

Finishing as runner-up in the U15 was Western Duchess, in the U17 was Ateneo B and University of San Jose Recoletos in the U19.

The U9 Mixed title was snared by the Giuseppe FC after edging Ateneo, 2-1.

KNF also finished with a title in the U15 Boys after prevailing 3-2 over Ateneo B via a penalty shootout.

In the Inter-Company which was also played in a league-type format, Makoto had the most number of wins at 4 and 1 draw while Mizuki settled as the runner-up with its 3 draws.

Matches in the U17 Boys, U19 Boys, 35-39, 40 Above and Men’s Open were still being contested at press time.
