Binibining Cebu’s comebacking candidates

UNFAZED that they failed to win one of last year’s crowns, two ladies have returned to give the Bini-bining Cebu pageant a second try.

Tracy Maureen Perez who represented Argao last year is now wearing the sash of Madridejos while Lou Dominique Piczon, who was Dalaguete’s bet last year, is now Ronda’s representative.

“I want to be Binibining Cebu 2018,” declared Perez.

After she did not make it last year, Perez decided that she will make a comeback this year.

“I was thinking that it may not really look good on me since it is not really normal for Cebu pageants to have returnees. But in the end, it was overcome by the voice in my head and in my heart telling me that I can do it this year,” she said.

Perez made it to the top 10 last year.

Piczon, on the other hand, said she is making another go at the crown because of the faith her manager Danny Booc has given her.

“He knows I can do this. Because of his faith I also believe that this is an opportunity to reinvent myself from last year,” said Piczon, who finished in the top 20 last year.

During the press presentation at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu on August 24, renowned designer Kenneth Cobonpue, the pageant’s creative producer, said that they are adding two titles to this year’s pageant: Binibining Cebu Heritage 2018 and Binibining Cebu Ecology 2018.

Last year’s pageant had three titles: Binibining Cebu, Binibining Cebu Charity and Binibining Cebu Tourism.

“We felt that there is something missing. If we have tourism and charity, we also have to bring out heritage and environment. What happened in Boracay is also happening in Cebu,” Cobonpue said.
