CHAPTER leaders of the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide (Piston) in Cebu plans to dialog with newly installed Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Central Visayas (LTFRB-7) Director Eduardo Montealto Jr. to clarify the guidelines in the implementation of the Pantawid Pasada program.

Greg Perez, chairman of Piston-Cebu, complained that none of their 700 members were listed as among the beneficiaries of the cash cards program which provides P5,000 fuel subsidy from the national government.

“Among klarohon kay ang feedback karon napunta man hinuon ni sa mga operators ang subsidy dili man sa mga drivers nga maoy nangayog tabang sa gobyerno (We want to clarify the mechanics of the cash cards distribution because we have been getting feedback that the operators are the ones receiving the subsidy and not the drivers who were the ones who sought help from government),” said Perez.

Perez said that they also wanted to discuss with Montealto updates on the government’s jeepney modernization program and the LTFRB-7 Director’s plans for jeepneys plying Central Visayas roads.

In a phone interview on Sunday, Montealto said that he was prepared to dialog with Piston members in order to address their concerns.

He also needed to solicit their cooperation in the implementation of their agency programs.
