THE REIGNING champions Convergys Converters got back at the Accenture Sharks, handing the league leaders its first loss of the season, 79-73, in the Elite Classic division of the 2018 Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball on Saturday at the Cebu Coliseum.
Admir Batiancila was the man of the match for the Converters with 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists. More importantly, Convergys avenged its loss early this season to Accenture, which at the time, played with just six players compared to the Converters’ full squad.
Arnel Azarcon added 16 points, four assists and three steals while John Dogomeo chipped in 10 markers, four assists and four steals for a Converters squad that now has a 4-3 (win-loss) card.
Accenture dropped to 6-1 in spite getting 14 points each from Archie Batua and Aldene Batino.
In the Evo League, the Dreamscape Lions claimed their sixth win in a row with a 60-51 win over the RN SSI.
Ralph Belarmino came up big once again for the Lions, as he tallied 27 points and 19 rebounds to go with six steals to help Dreamscape go up to 6-0.
The Tech Mahindra Mighties also improved to 4-1 with a 79-43 beatdown of Bombardier.
Robert Rebano had 25 points in the dominant win.
The Contact Solutions Lemurs also defeated Cognizant, 69-63, behind Jerard dela Cerna’s double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lemurs evened their record up at 2-2.
