The Cebu City government will proceed with its coastal clean-up activity this Saturday despite the threat of Typhoon Ompong unless advised otherwise by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
The simultaneous clean-up is done as part of the International Coastal Clean-up Day.
Nida Cabrera, officer-in-charge of the Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CCENRO), said they have already identified the areas where the clean-up will be conducted and only an advisory from the DENR will stop them from doing it.
Meanwhile, the Lapu-Lapu City government has decided to move its coastal clean-up to next Saturday, Sept. 22 due to the expected inclement weather this weekend.
