Awarding the Adventure Race Players (College of Medicine)
The student body of Cebu Doctors’ University witnessed the annual Adventure Race competition last August 31, 2018 (Friday) with the theme: “Game of Thrones,” spearheaded by The Supreme Student Government (SSG) with the guidance of the Students’ Affairs, Publications, and Public Relations Office (SAPPRO). The Adventure Race is an that is event held every University Week where representatives form different college departments compete in an “amazing race” type of game where teams must complete different tasks within the given time limit to win the race. The seven different college departments were represented by teams of five students, these teams were named after the seven kingdoms in the show, “Game of Thrones,” which was the theme of this year’s games. Different tasks and obstacles also incorporated the theme of the event, such as “White Walkers” and “Wildlings” infesting the campus to try to capture and slow down the players, which they will have to avoid. The race ends in a final game where they will go head to head with the Night’s King to complete the most difficult challenge in the game.
The points for the Adventure Race are calculated based on how long the players finish in each task. These times are combined, and the shortest time wins the race. This year’s Adventure Race Champion is the College of Allied Medical Sciences, followed by the College of Rehabilitative Science, with the College of Medicine placing third. The College of Rehabilitative Sciences also received the “Best in Costume” award.
The Awarding of Adventure Race winners were awarded later that day, during CDU’s first ever Students’ Night held at Cebu Doctors’ University at the South Wing Atrium.
