THIS YEAR’S Cebu City Olympics will return to holding some of its sporting events at the SM Seaside City Cebu.
This was revealed by Francis Ramirez, the sports coordinator of the Department of Education Cebu City Division.
“The other year, we held some events at the SM Seaside City Cebu, last year we moved to Robinsons Galleria, this year, we are returning to the SM Seaside,” said Ramirez, who had a meeting yesterday with all the tournament managers.
Events to be held at the SM Seaside are arnis, gymnastics, wushu, wrestling, pencak silat, chess, dancesports, taekwondo, karatedo as well as the cultural events.
The Cebu City Olympics is slated from Nov. 14 to 18.
Ramirez said that the main hub will still be at the Cebu City Sports Center, where athletics, swimming, football, sepak takraw, badminton, boxing, billiards and the championship game of softball will be held.
Softball eliminations will still be held at the Labangon Elementary School as well as baseball.
Basketball will still be at the Cebu Coliseum and Cebu City Sports Institute, futsal at Don Bosco, volleyball at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation and Lahug Elementary School, and archery either at the North Reclamation Area or South Road Properties.
Ramirez, however, said the venues could still change as they will continue to prepare for the Meet that will determine who will represent Cebu City to the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet wherein the city is a perennial champion.
