THE FIRST-EVER Cesafi All Star Draft will be conducted this morning at the Cebu Coliseum, where designated coaches will get to pick players for teams bearing the league’s most prominent products.
For the college division, the University of the Visayas’ (UV) Gary Cortes and the University of Cebu’s (UC) Yayoy Alcoseba will be picking players for Team Slaughter and Team Fajardo, respectively. The teams were named after big men Greg Slaughter and June Mar Fajardo, formerly of UV and UC who are now making waves in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
In the high school division, Ateneo de Cebu’s Rommel Rasmo and UV’s Jun Pepito will be selecting players for Team Tallo and Team Desiderio, named after league MVPs Macmac Tallo and Paul Desiderio.
Tallo is also now playing in the PBA while Desiderio played in the PBA D-League.
The coaches will get to pick from a 50-player pool composed of the league’s best players based on statistics from this season.
The Draft, which starts 9 a.m., will be broadcast live in Cebu Daily News’ Facebook page with the help of the Cebu Intstitute of Technology-University (CIT-U) production team and the support of Lactobiotics Worldwide Corporation and Booodotz Seafood Grill.
