BLOGGER Mocha Uson formalized her political bid on Monday when she filed her candidacy to become a representative of AA-Kasosyo partylist in the 2019 elections.
However, AA-Kasosyo partylist was among the groups linked to the P10-billion pork barrel scam allegedly masterminded by Janet Lim-Napoles. So far, three senators as well as five congressmen have been charged for the controversy.
In 2011, AA-Kasosyo (Kasosyo Producer-Consumer Exchange Association) partylist through its then representative in Congress – former Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman – allegedly funneled P15 million of its Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) to the Kaupdanan para sa Mangunguma Foundation Inc. (KMFI).
But pork barrel whistle-blowers Benhur Luy and Merlina Suñas identified KMFI as bogus along with 19 other non-government organizations purportedly set up by Napoles as conduit for PDAF funds.
The project supposedly benefitted 776 people who received organic high-value harvest packages worth P15,450 each.
